Mr. Hero Awarded Cleveland’s First Michelin Star

The Michelin Guide selection committee spoke to the Pierogi from the Bowel Cancer Rehabilitation Pavilion at University Hospital.

Cleveland, like every city in America, has a “pretty good food scene actually.” So the Michelin Guide’s announcement that they would review local restaurants was no surprise to locals, and especially not surprising to implants who can afford the new restaurants.

After dining at local contenders like Cordelia, Amba, and Marble Room, judges felt their search wasn’t complete. “We wanted to find a truly authentic Cleveland dining experience, not just a fancy restaurant that could be in any other town,” said Gwendal Poullennec, director of the Michelin Guide. Inspiration struck when judges were walking down E.185th, and a wet Mr. Hero bag tumbled onto one judge’s foot. They followed this omen to the hallowed home of the Roman Burger, Buttered Cheesesteak, and Waffledoodle, where one thing became clear- the first Michelin Star in Cleveland has to go to Mr. Hero.

The Michelin Guide selection committee spoke to the Pierogi from the Bowel Cancer Rehabilitation Pavilion at University Hospital. One judge, wrapped in a cartoonishly large butt bandage, said “this was the finest burger I’ve ever had,” while licking his fingers clean. Another diaper-clad survivor of the Romanburger said “that burger changed my life, and the lives of countless Clevelanders.”
